Children

SuperChurch

Children have a great opportunity to worship and hear about Jesus in an age-appropriate manner which is fun and easy for them to understand. SuperChurch meets during both Sunday services. Children three years old and up (and potty-trained) are encouraged to attend SuperChurch. The worship time is geared to be fun and help children understand Jesus on their level.

What does it look like?

SuperChurch is split into two halves. The children are all together for the first 30 minutes for games, singing, missions awareness, Scripture memory, testimonies, and prayer. The second 30 minutes the children are divided into age-level Sunday school classes where they hear Bible stories and participate in related activities.

Monthly booklets

The children receive a reward when they recite Scripture from the 'Bible Rocks' booklets. When they complete 8 activities and 3 verses they are allowed to choose a prize from the prize drawer. These activities are designed to help children grow in their love for Jesus in fun and creative ways.

Nursery

The mission of River's nursery is to provide a loving and safe environment for children while their parents worship. The nursery is for newborns to children three years of age. The nursery is located on the first floor, east of the foyer. Our nursery workers are active members of River Community Church who undergo yearly training in order to ensure your children receive the best possible care. Some workers rotate every three months while others are permanent. Please get to know your child’s workers: they're great people!

Check your child in with a nursery worker in the designated room (see below).

Infants – Your child will be in the Infant Room from birth until they begin to crawl. Each baby’s individual needs will be cared for. All bottles need to be prepared by the parent in advance. If you have any questions about your child’s care, feel free to ask one of the nursery workers.

Creepers – Your child will be in the Creeper Room from the time they are crawling until they are at least 18 months and walking steadily. Here children play together and with nursery workers. They may be given a nursery snack. If there are more children and workers than the Creeper Room can comfortably hold, this room divides into two separate rooms. If you have any questions about your child’s care feel free to ask one of the nursery workers.

Toddlers – Your child will be in the Toddler Room from the time they are 18 months and walking steadily until they are 3 years old and potty trained. Children play together and have a nursery snack. If you have any questions about your child’s care feel free to ask one of the nursery workers.

Nursery Illness Policy

We ask that you not bring your children to the nursery if they display any of the following symptoms or have any of these illnesses:

  • 99 or above fever
  • yellow or green nasal discharge
  • any eye discharge
  • severe cough
  • diarrhea
  • vomiting
  • questionable rashes
  • common cold
  • chicken pox
  • measles
  • mumps
  • inflamed mouth or throat
  • croup
  • head lice

We want the nursery to be a safe place for your child to be healthy and happy! If your child has any of the above symptoms and you decide to attend church with them, you may sit with your child in the overflow room, located to north of the foyer.
