What I do at River:
I am the Children's Pastor here at River. I coordinate with volunteers helping with the children in SuperChurch and Nursery.
I was born in Wichita and lived in the College Hill area growing up. After graduating from Wichita East high school, I felt stuck. I prayed that God would give my life meaning and show me what to do next. For the next few years God took me on an adventure doing a variety of jobs. I set up equipment for a travelling gospel music group, worked at church camps, parented at an inner city boys’ home, and travelled overseas to share my life and faith. I came to River around 1999, married my wife Mikelle in 2002, and now have three active children.
I love working with children. Before working at River I was Latchkey Director at a private school for 6 years.
God has brought me through some serious challenges in my life as well. In 2005 I was diagnosed with a kidney disease, but praise God, after several years of dialysis, I received a kidney transplant in January of 2010.
I enjoy playing Settlers of Catan and other unusual board games with friends and family. I also enjoy family bike rides on hot summer nights to the neighborhood DQ for ice cream.
